Are you interested in becoming an Allpet House Sitter?
You need to be a mature, reliable, trustworthy person who absolutely loves pets!
Some of the reasons that people house sit are:
- if you are building/renovating your own house and need short term accommodation.
- enjoy helping other people out with their pets.
- if you live in a retirement village and are unable to own a pet – you can look after a lovely pet in a nice location (by the ocean or up in the hills etc) and have a holiday yourself by enjoying a change of scenery.
- to save money by living ‘rent free’.
If becoming an Allpet house sitter appeals, please read the following Sitters' Responsibilities below and fill in the Sitter Application Form (PDF) to register and read the ‘Important House Sitters Notes’.
You will need to provide:
- A current Police Clearance Certificate. (Application forms available from the Post Office)
- Two references that show you are reliable, trustworthy and honest.
- A Bond of $300 (single person) or $450 (couple) plus $30 admin fee when you commit to house sitting.
- Formal photographic identification ie. passport or drivers license.
Sitters' Responsibilities:
- Allpets are on 24 hr call. If you experience any problems please contact the friendly neighbour, family member or vet, and our office.
- Complete basic pet, house and garden maintenance as requested by the house owner in the House Owner’s Manual.
- Only have the number of visitors around the house as stated by the owner in the Owner/Sitter Contract.
- You must provide your own food and if you use any of the owners' please replace it.
- Keep a record of all phone calls on the landline and pay for your own calls.
- The property is to be left clean and tidy at the end of the sit.
- The Allpet House Sitters ‘NO SMOKING RULE’ applies to all homes, unless otherwise agreed with the home owner.
- Absolutely no parties are allowed.
Unless you work shifts, you are contracted to be in the house between 12am midnight and 6am the next morning. You will be expected to be in the house as long as you can to provide love and companionship to the pets.
